We put in a lot of work, and I think this article will be useful and inspiring for anyone planning a similar event.
I began my project by looking for ideas on Pinterest (here is my board with pins) and created a visual presentation of my plans. I highly recommend doing this when planning any party; it helps structure your ideas.
I started my project by creating the invitation. Here are my inspiration examples and my final design, which includes all the party details: date, time, and location. If you want to order my design and then print this invitation or send it as a digital file, you can text me here.
Next, I made custom juice labels. I already posted a step-by-step tutorial on how to make these labels in Canva and what materials to use. You can find the full tutorial here.
The next project was the guest photo frame. You can find a detailed tutorial on my channel here. It was a lot of fun when the guests happily posed for memories.
We also prepared goodie bags for the guests. We used two colors and printed stickers for them. Look how cute they turned out!
I found ideas with elf heads and princess crowns on Pinterest and decided to make the same ones for our event.
Check out my channel for a tutorial on how to assemble these photo props.
I wanted to make character cutouts for a long time and I’m really happy with how they turned out for that project.
Here’s a quick rundown of how I did it: I printed my images on glossy photo paper, bought foam board from Dollar Tree, removed the upper layer, and applied my sticker images. You can then use a utility knife to cut out the pictures. For this project, you can also use a hard foam cutter, which cuts foam board like butter. Choose the option that’s more convenient for you. I cut small pieces of foam board and glued them with a hot glue gun to hold our cutout characters.
I also made these awesome buckets and added toppers with daisies and ladybugs. How to make the same project watch here.
Especially, I want to highlight these cookies that my friend Olga made for this event - here is her Instagram. Look at the details! The kids couldn’t wait to try them.
For each cookie, I made custom thank-you stickers.
Of course, I made a birthday banner with the name of our birthday girl.
I also found coloring pages in the theme of our party and printed them out for the kids.
What’s a birthday without a cake? We printed all the main characters and decorated the cake as a flower meadow.
The birthday was a great success, and I did this project with great pleasure.
I hope you like this article. Whether you’re planning a birthday party, classroom event, or special celebration, personalized labels can add a unique touch. With Canva’s user-friendly design tools, you can create custom labels that perfectly match your theme and style. Let’s get started and make your drinks look amazing!
Here, you can see my three examples that I did earlier.
Create the label design on Canva: I use Canva a lot; it’s perfect for creating a project like this. First, we have to create a new design. I will choose a custom size. I decided that the size of my label, 3 and 1/2 by 5 inches, is optimal for me.
So, I created a new project with these sizes. I found a picture of characters on Pinterest; it will be the basis of my design. The rest we will design together with Canva.
I found the font on Font.com, and it’s free for personal use. I uploaded the font to Canva.
I add mushrooms and clover to the grass. After that, I think the design is complete.
Create the print template: Now, we create a template for sticker paper. We go to the main menu and create a new project, 8.5 by 11 inches, which is the standard size for a sheet of sticker paper.
I add a picture frame and change it to the size of my label. We can fit four labels on one sheet. Then, we go back to our label design, download it, upload it to Canva, and add it to the image frames. Now, our four label designs on one sheet of sticker paper are ready.
Print settings: I print all my images on an Epson EcoTank 376 printer. I love my printer and its printing image quality.
I use sticker paper from HTVRont, and you can find the link in my description.
I select glossy paper when printing, and for glossy paper, I adjust the settings to get bright and high-quality pictures. This setting works great for me.
Cut the labels: When I printed labels, I cut them on my paper trimmer. It helps me get a perfect straight line. If you don’t have a paper trimmer, you can use regular scissors.
Apply the labels: I apply the labels straight on the juice package where it folds and glue the label along the central line. I fold the corner a little bit and remove the backside of the sticker paper. I don’t cover the front side of the juice, as I want to give kids the opportunity to see and choose the juice flavor. It also makes it much easier to apply the sticker. I slightly bend the label and start gluing from the center, carefully smoothing the label. Then, I turn it over, roll first one side, and then the other. This ensures there are no wrinkles.
Full tutorial you can watch on my YouTube channel. It can be a perfect keepsake for future parents. It’s not my first video on my YouTube channel about pins and badges, so I highly recommend checking out my Party Pins playlist dedicated to pin making for more information and inspiration.
I use here:
Ribbons from Jo-Ann Stores and Hobby Lobby the same on Amazon 65 lbs cardstock paper Gingher Dressmaker’s Fabric Scissors Surebonder Hot Glue Gun Vevor Pin Maker Machine Metal Shells and Plastic Base Badge Making Supplies Epson EcoTank ET-3760 Printer The design of my pin consists of two parts: the core of the bee and the ribbon part folded like an accordion. I have a detailed video on how to make this pin button using a Vevor pin maker. If you are making the pin as a one-time project, you can print and cut out your design on paper. This option is also acceptable for this project. I’m using a 7/8-inch ribbon on which we will have to apply small cuts measuring 1 cm. I will do this using sewing scissors because they are very sharp and perfect for this job. I place the ribbon on the edge of the table, then put down the ruler. This way, I make equal cuts of 1 cm. We need to make such marks for approximately a length of 24 inches. This is how our ribbon should look like. To prevent the ribbon edges from fraying, we seal them with a flame. Then, we take a hot glue gun and fold the ribbon. We fold the ribbon in a zigzag pattern, squeezing out a small drop of glue and folding the edge inward. We repeat this process until we have a total of 16 folds. You may have a different number depending on your pin size, but it can be easily adjusted. This is the kind of ruffles we should end up with. Next, we glue our ribbon onto the pin base, carefully avoiding any mess with glue and ensuring it’s attached exactly in the center. Once we reach the end, we cut the ribbon and hide the last corner inside, sealing it with glue. For the final assembly, we cut ribbons into 6-inch pieces and glue them to the backside of our pin. And there you have it, our raffle pins for a baby shower are ready. I hope you find this tutorial useful. Subscribe to my channel and happy crafting! Welcome to the world of CRICUT crafting! I know starting with your machine can be a bit much. There are so many cool projects out there, it’s hard to know where to begin. Are you into paper crafts, vinyl crafts, making T-shirts, signs, or something else? It’s a lot to think about. But don’t worry!
If you are thinking about buying the Cricut machine and making crafts for your family or business, this article is for you! These 10 craft accessories and supplies will help you get started on any crafting journey you choose.
Let’s start!
1. A cutting machine #I have the Cricut Maker, and honestly I don’t have experience with other brands. I bought my machine on the Cricut website, although you should look at Amazon or check the websites of other craft stores to compare prices and bundles.
If I had to buy a new cutting machine today, I would take another Cricut, but would invest in the latest model - Cricut Maker 3. According to reviews, it works faster and quieter than my Maker. But my Cticut Maker suits me just fine, not too loud or slow.
CRICUT ACCESS/ CRICUT DESIGN SPACE Along with my machine I bought the Cricut Access membership where I got access to the Cricut Design Space library with thousands of images, fonts, ready-made projects. It will cost you around/less $10 a month, but will save loads of time and money if you make at least two projects a month. You will also get a discount when you order products from the Cricut website.
2. A Cricut bundle with tools and materials #Also I do recommend buying the Cricut as part of a bundle that also includes materials and crafting tools. First, you save yourself money because buying crafting materials and tools separately can be quite expensive. Also, it’s a great help for the beginner to have the basic supplies included with the cutting machine.
I would definitely recommend the bundle from Cricut again to start. While you are a beginner, you will be looking in which direction to make your crafts. And the bundle allows you to experiment and you can use everything in your projects that comes inside.
3. Cutting mats #The cutting mat usually comes with a cutting machine or bundle. But I recommend having at least three mats Cricut Standard Grip Mat, 12x12or Cricut Standard Grip Mat, 12x24 for productive work.
Some projects call for more than 15 mats! And while you can pull paper off after it runs through the Cricut machine and then reuse the mat, that’s a slow process! Having more mats available is a huge time-saver.
There are different mats with different grips for different materials. Personally, I use green and blue mats for most of my craft projects.
4. Cardstock paper #The easiest way to start learning how to work with Cricut is making paper projects. I recommend using cardstock paper. Basically, I use two different kinds of cardstock. One is 8.5 by 11 inches in size and 65 lb thick paper, that I buy from Michaels Recollections Cardstock Paper. I suggest to buy a set of different colors to experiment with different projects - Cardstock Paper.
My second favorite is Bazzill 12×12″ cardstock from Joann Store here or here. Their cardstock comes in different textures, which is why I love it.
5. Bearly Art Glue #Once you have created and cut out your paper project, you need to assemble it. And the most ideal assistant in this is Bearly Art Glue. It has a thin tip, and it’s very easy to apply. It doesn’t ripple your paper and holds strong. It dries quickly and leaves no marks. You don’t need much of it and it lasts you long, so I highly recommend it.
6. A glue gun #A definitely must have for any crafter is a glue gun. I use a Surebonder, but I would recommend using any gun that has a large and fine tip, which is easier to work with, for example, this one.
7. A crafting mat #I will definitely suggest using a crafting mat, first, to protect your table. But most importantly to help yourself during the assembly. You can make the markings on the mat to help you find the center or to make sure that your lines and angles are correct. It is a small investment, but a big help.
8. Vinyl #Having a cutting machine you MUST also try simple vinyl projects. My bundle included vinyl, but you can choose any vinyl you want (this or [that] https://amzn.to/3OQ3vs5). Here are my vinyl projects. You can also find videos with step by step tutorials on my YouTube channel.
9. Transfer tape #Transfer tape is a must have for any type of vinyl project. Also known as application tape, it is a gridded plastic film that can be placed on top of a piece of vinyl to make the sticker easier to apply. It allows you to see exactly where you are placing the sticker on the surface.
10. Storage #With all these different materials and tools it’s really important to create storage for all your supplies. It’s hard to give one piece of advice here. It all depends on your budget and space.
It can be a crate or a plastic box, or it can be a separate crafting room. But I highly recommend keeping all the materials in one place and organizing them for yourself.
There is so much more to share but these are basic supplies to get you started on your Cricut crafting journey. This is what you need to safely experiment and improve your crafting experience. Soon you will find what you like most and do best.
I hope you find this helpful If you have anything you would add or have questions about please leave a comment below. Good luck and happy crafting.
Video where you can see all process: #
If you are thinking about buying the Cricut machine and making crafts for your family or business, this article is for you!
We use affiliate links. If you buy something through the links on this page, we may earn a commission at no cost to you.
Today I want to share information about the Vevor thermal printer and why I chose this device.
I needed to update my label printing process. Last two years I’ve been printing all my shipping labels on my regular printer Epson Eco Tank 3760. I took shipping sticker paper Half Sheet Shipping Labels and put it inside the printer every time when I needed to print the shipping label. It worked for me good, but at that moment my Etsy business has grown and now it’s time to optimize all this process.
I chose the Vevor printer because it has a very reasonable price. Also I already have a pin machine from Vevor, so I was loyal to this brand and which one I’m very satisfied with. You can see a full tutorial on how I make my pins on my YouTube channel. The second reason I like that the printer paper is stored inside the printer compared with other models. And you don’t need to buy a storage stand for paper. Thermal printers use heat to print text or images so you don’t need ink for your printer. The description for the paper says this thermal printer works in a high resolution without any white dots, and printing will always remain steady on label images.
In addition to the shipping label I plan to print stickers with my name and decorate my orders with. So when my customers see their envelope on their porches or mailboxes they can immediately understand where it comes from.
These are the test sticker designs I made. I really like how they turn out. I can definitely recommend this thermal label printer. What’s in the box? #Now let’s talk about how to set up the printer and what is inside the box. Here you can see all parts of the printer that came in the box by default: three types of cords, shipping label paper, the small packages include a USB disc with driver to setup machine and USB adapter. So you can read the instruction manual and it will tell you exactly all your steps you need to do. On the back here are all our power buttons and where you are going to be placing all of your cords. First I’m going to connect the unplugged machine to my computer. Then I connect the power cord which is actually in two separate parts. You have to plug the first part into the back of your printer. The second part you plug into a wall outlet. Green light like here will show you that you did everything right. The second step is to download the driver. You can do it with a USB disc that comes with a printer or like me, open the official website, double click on the file, then follow the screen instructions. Here is my sticker that I printed. I setted up all settings, select size for paper 3x2 and click print. You can print out multiple labels at one time. Look how cute they are. If you want you can also choose paper of different colors, shapes and sizes. So you can print not only shipping labels, but also very nice and cute stickers for any occasion.
Printer details # Resolution 300dpi Connection Bluetooth/USB Label Size 1.57"-4.25" / 40-108 mm Printing Speed 150 mm/s / 6 ips Label Paper Type Direct Thermal Support Devices Smartphones, Laptops Compatible Systems Android, IOS, Windows, Mac OS, Linux, Chromebook Product Size(L x W x H) 9.9x8.1x7.2 inch / 251x206x183 mm Net Weight 4.62 lbs / 2.1 kg Manual Download Link
This desktop label printer can catch the labels and feed them into the printer automatically. Just close the lid and insert the paper from the back of the printer, then watch as the machine identifies the labels effortlessly. Besides, it also features an automatic paper return function, which can return unsuitable labels and avoid wasting them.
Does this printer use any brand of thermal labels, or do you need to use a special brand label?
Any brand of thermal labels is fine. It can be printed with a width of 40mm to 108mm.
Can it print color images?
No, all thermal printers can not print any color images.
How do I calibrate the label printer?
Press and hold the feed button until the indicator (blue) flashes 2 times.
